10. Back Pedal Brewing
Portland is weird, bike friendly, and into beer. Encompassing all of those traits is Back Pedal Brewing, making it one of the best breweries in Portland. The beginning and end of the BrewCycle, a 2 hour tour of 3 different breweries, seats 6, 11, or 15 and is sure to be an adventure rain or shine. Start the BrewCycle with one of Back Pedal’s rotating IPAs or Saisons.
Back Pedal is located in the Pearl district and is dog friendly. There isn’t food on site, but feel free to bring your own snacks or get delivery! They have 14 taps available and in addition to beer also have cider.
9. Breakside Brewery
If you are looking for the best IPA in Portland, be sure to stop at one of Breakside Brewery’s three locations in the City of Roses. Known for its innovation and diversity in brewing, Breakside was named Brewery of the Year at the 2017 Oregon Beer Awards.
Each location has their beer and food menus. Favorites include their Pilsner and Breakside Burger, made with Kobe-style beef and a creamy center of bleu cheese. The marriage of great beer and food is not something you will find in many Portland breweries.

For something with a little more pop Stormbreaker Brewing is there for you. Named after Mt. Hood’s volcano, Stormbreaker brews beers with attitude.
From Kolsches to Imperials, or Reds to Porters there is assuredly something for everyone. The food options are varied, with traditional pub fare and daily specials. Since Stormbreaker also serves cocktails, an added treat is try a whiskey and beer pairing.

If taking your beer out and about is more your speed, then Base Camp Brewing Company just might be your bet for best brewery in Portland. Geared towards those that don’t shy away from adventure, Base Camp brews beers to be enjoyed while exploring the Pacific Northwest.
The brewery offers firepits, log seating on the patio, and rotating food carts for dining options. Their rotating beers are always of the highest quality, but of special note are their S’More Stout and Harvest Saison (Gold medal winner at the Oregon Beer Awards).
6. Occidental Brewing Co.
The German-style beers at Occidental Brewing Company are what make it one of the best Portland breweries. For those looking for an escape from west coast IPAs, Occidental provides continental style ales and lagers.
Located across the street is the Occidental Wursthaus, providing a full menu of German fare. Enjoy some sausage while sipping on a delicious Bohemian-style Pilsner all with a view of the St. Johns Bridge.
